Pizza Sloppy Joes

Makes 5 Servings

 

1/2 pound 99% Fat Free ground chicken or turkey Breast

1/2 pound 93% Lean ground turkey

1-6 ounce can no salt added tomato paste

3/4 cup low sodium chicken broth

2 teaspoon onion flakes

1 teaspoon dried basil

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

1/8-1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 cup part skim milk mozzarella cheese, shredded

 

Spray a large non-stick skillet with non-stick cooking spray.  Heat over medium-high heat and add the ground turkeys.  Stir and cook until browned throughout.

 

Add the tomato paste, chicken broth, and seasonings.  Stir well.  Turn the heat to low or medium low, cover and let simmer ~10 minutes.

 

Serve on whole grain buns with 1 tablespoon of shredded mozzarella cheese.
